BSW11: Outdoor – Billboards – Drafts
Here are the BSW11 Outdoor Billboards initial layout comps.
With each design our main goal was to make sure that viewers can understand the event as well as obtain the information at a glance.
We utilized a color scheme based on similar tones from the logo/current site and made sure each style is social yet professional while still providing an “open” experience for the viewer. Last year the BG was more “closed” using the yellow BG…we wanted to create a more open design and opted for a white BG.
These are just rough examples to demonstrate the overall style that the billboard can have. We’ve highlighted certain elements (typography, images, sponsors, hand use, etc) to help show you what can be possible within the selected style.
Please keep in mind that each design is a DRAFT. Please use these selections to help dictate a certain style and use of space, organization, etc. The images, fonts, and other elements are only for demonstration and will have a higher quality when prepared for final print.

There’s a lot of type in all the billboards and we believe letting the type speak loud and proud in outdoor advertising is a good thing. Afterall people need to absorb this info in a matter of seconds.

Keeping with the paint theme, splatter is a fun and creative way to incorporate imagery. Hopefully these provide a good fun framing for the pictures. Conversely the type remains neat and contained.

The bricks represent building a community and offer a good holding device for all the Big Sunday faces.

We wanted to feature the big hand, and also have one singular image. We were looking for a stock photo of several people erecting the frame of a house, but we couldn’t find the right image. Alternately we kept coming back to the image of this kid. We think this kid GREAT and represents a perfect snapshot of fun, involvement, volunteering, better world, giving back etc, etc. He immediately jumps out to us as the perfect poster child for the event.
